Merry Christmas!

We had a nice Christmas morning here in Rockland.  Phineas opened his stocking and then we all opened presents.  Phineas was very excited by some of the toys in his stocking and elated to get the Lego Town Square set, which he started building as soon as we let him.  Then we went down to the trap tree for a picture with everyone who was here.

Baking Christmas cookies

Phineas and Mom baked some sugar cookies on Sunday.  And, of course, Juno didn't want to miss out on the fun!

Decorating the Christmas tree

Getting our Christmas Tree

Two weekends ago we all jumped in the truck and headed out to find a Christmas tree.  With Phineas's help, we found a nice full evergreen that is now in our living room!  Though it was bitterly cold, Phineas still enjoyed running around the field looking at trees.

Santa Claus

Phineas stopped by and said hi to Santa when he was down at Rockland's trap tree.  He told Santa that he wanted Lego sets for Christmas!

Gingerbread Men!

Last weekend Phineas and Mom went down to our local bakery to make gingerbread men.  Phineas got to make two cookies, and he had a great time spreading the frosting and then adding all sorts of candy decorations.  He was quite proud of his creations!

Christmas!

We spent Christmas day at home this year and Gido, Sandy, and Aunt Julie joined us.  Phineas received many many vehicles, including a hot wheels track.  He also received his great-grandfather's Basin, WY volunteer firefighter dress uniform hat, which was an extra special treat for the budding firefighter.

Juno - our Christmas puppy!

Ever since Mayflower and Dijon passed away we've been without any pets.  But on Christmas Eve we changed all that with the newest addition to our family: Juno the Golden Retriever!  Juno and Phineas became fast friends and like to chase each other around.  He even read her a bed time story when she snuggled down for one of her first puppy naps at our house.

Christmas in Sedgwick

The Saturday before Christmas we went to Grandpa and Grandma's house to have an early celebration with cousins Henry and Ben and their family.  It was an action packed day!

Making Christmas Cookies

Here are some shots of Phineas and Mom making sugar cookies.  Phineas liked the car, truck, and fire truck cookie cutters the best.  He had fun decorating them and ate lots of frosting!

Our Christmas Tree

This past weekend we picked out and then cut our Christmas tree.  Phineas took the lead in tromping around in the woods, although he didn't have much input on tree selection.  When it came time to cut he was right there, though, and was a big helper.  Then we went took it home and decorated it!

Farnsworth & Santa

Rockland had a Festival of Lights on Saturday.  The Farnsworth Museum held an open house with activities for children.  In order of how much Phin liked them, the activities were: model train display, decorate your own cookie, horse drawn wagon ride, and art project.  Then we said hi to Santa.  Phineas was not shy and, when asked, rattled off a few items he wants for Christmas.  Later in the evening we went to a parade downtown, where he told us his favorite float was the Coast Guard rescue boat.

Playing

Phineas got some really neat new toys for Christmas. In fact, it was almost overwhelming. But he's managed to find the time to play with all of them. Here are two pictures of him playing with his new toys.

Baking

One of the things Phineas did while he was on Christmas vacation was cook! Here are some pictures of him getting the muffin tin ready for cupcakes and mixing the Chex mix.
