Preschool Graduation

Because Phineas is old enough to go to school next year, he was part of the "graduating" class at his preschool.  They even held a short ceremony today--it was Hawaiian themed.  Here are some pictures of the crazy-haired kid:

Getting Ready for the New House

We are closing on our new house this week and are getting very excited! It's a 100 year old house that needs lots of work and updating, but we are happy to have a place to call our own. Here are some pictures of us at the house last week when the septic system was being worked on. Phineas liked checking out the excavator they had on site.

Mother's Day 2014

It was a beautiful Mother's Day this year so we went to our old stomping ground - Spruce Mountain - for a hike and then went to Mom's favorite ice cream place, John's Ice Cream in Liberty.  It was a fun afternoon!

Lazy Sunday Lego Lunch

Here's Phineas enjoying lunch in his pajamas after a morning of Lego play.  It was a beautiful day, though, so we did get outside later to go for a bike ride!

First bike ride of Spring 2014

We took advantage of Saturday's beautiful weather to go on our first bike ride of the spring.  Juno was very excited to run along with us and Phineas didn't miss a beat on his bike.  Here are some pictures of the guy getting ready to go!

Gardening

Phineas and Mom have been sprucing up the yard for summer.  They've planted flowers in the flowerboxes and pulled many weeds.  Phineas's favorite job is to transport weeds out to the back yard, where he dumps them in the woods.

Playing tee ball!

 We took the tee ball set outside the other day and Phineas (or Big Papi, as he likes to be called!) hit some balls to dad.  He hit some solid line drives and one even went into the neighbors yard!  He loved it.

Lobster Boat Races

The lobster boat races were in town last weekend so we went out to the breakwater to watch the show.  We walked all the way out on the breakwater to the lighthouse and checked that out.  Then we watched the various races, which consisted of three or four lobster boats lining up next to the breakwater and then racing along it.  There were lots of people watching from the breakwater and in boats, and Phineas like checking out the different boats floating around.

Waiting for Dad to Come Home

Every week day around 5 o'clock, Phin and June like to look out the window and watch for Dad to come home. Here is a picture of them doing so, competing with each other for window space. 

Monster Trucks!

We went to a monster truck show today at Speedway 95.  Phineas has been interested in monster trucks for a long time now and when we found out that there was going to be a show nearby we went!  At first, the monster trucks were so loud that Phineas put his hands over his ears but as the show went on he got used to the sound.  Phineas liked the truck "Captain's Curse" the best because it looked like an old time truck.  Dad liked "Crushstation" because it looked like a lobster and is from a town really close to where we live.  It was also fun to watch the ATV and  SUV races between the monster truck heats.

Bug Light

Two weeks ago Aunt Julie made a surprise visit to Portland and Phineas and Dad went down to hang out with her and Jon.  After a trip to Willard Scoops for some delicious ice cream we went to Bug Light Park where we looked at the kites flying, watched boats, and ran around in the grass.

Rockland Breakwater

We went out to the Breakwater recently.  Phineas like looking out at the lobster buoys that were really close to the Breakwater and he like running around on the beach.  We even saw two seals! Here are some pictures from our outing: 

Visit to the Coastal Children's Museum

During April vacation Phineas visited the Coastal Children's Museum in Rockland with Grammie Friend and Mom.  The three had great fun playing all the different activities, from the boat to the construction site.  Here are some pictures:

First Bike Ride of the Season

Phin went on his first bike ride of the season a few days ago. He was so excited to get on his bike again after a long winter of being limited to riding it around the dining room table.  He squealed, laughed and had a smile on his face the whole ride! 

 

Outside Fun!

Now that the weather is getting better we've been going outside a lot more.  Phineas and Juno like to run around the house, dig up rocks, and chase balls and sticks.  Phin's neighbor even gave him a new wheel barrow for scooping up yard debris and rocks!

Sandbox!

Phineas loves digging in dirt and he seems to find dirt to dig in wherever we are.  Even when there really isn't a place for him to dig.  So to solve that we made a sandbox for him to play in this summer.  Phineas was very excited to help build it, and he did, and then once it was done he immediately started playing.  He likes it!
