Spruce Mountain in February

Oma and Aunt Julie came up for a quick visit last weekend.  Saturday was a wonderful warm February day, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 40s.  We decided to head up to one of Phineas's favorite places - Spruce Mountain - for a winter hike.  It was a lot of fun!

Beech Hill (again!)

It was a warm February first so we decided to go for a quick hike up Beech Hill in Rockport.  It's not the first time we've been there, and it's always a fun hike because it's short, easy, and has beautiful views from the top.  Of course, like usual, Phineas likes to pretend we're all brush rigs (off road fire trucks)--this trip became even more exciting when he spotted smoke coming from the woods to the west!

Ikea trip

After Christmas, Phineas' Lego collection exploded and it was time to find some system to organize it all.  So, with a few other things on our shopping list, we hopped in the car and went to Ikea.  Phineas liked following the maze of the store, looking for arrows to show us where to go.  He was also helpful in deciding exactly which storage system to pick.  Here are some pictures of Phineas checking it out!

Uncle James and Aunt Trisha's wedding

Aunt Trisha and Uncle James tied the knot last weekend (congratulations!).  Phineas was lucky enough to be part of the wedding.  Here are some pictures of him and his cousins Henry and Ben posing for pictures with the photographer at the post-wedding dinner.  They had a lot of fun together!

Sledding in Camden

Today we went sledding, and Phineas had fun!  Here is a video of his run with dad.

Phineas and the Big Snow

Almost two feet of snow fell here in less than a week.  Phineas loved it and played outside in it all day one Saturday.  He dug out a snow house in a big snowbank, and slid down some of the snow piles the loaders made at a nearby parking lot.

Two weekends ago we all jumped in the truck and headed out to find a Christmas tree.  With Phineas's help, we found a nice full evergreen that is now in our living room!  Though it was bitterly cold, Phineas still enjoyed running around the field looking at trees.

Gingerbread Men!

Last weekend Phineas and Mom went down to our local bakery to make gingerbread men.  Phineas got to make two cookies, and he had a great time spreading the frosting and then adding all sorts of candy decorations.  He was quite proud of his creations!

Inside on a cold day

It was cold outside today - a high of about 15 degrees - so Phineas hunkered down in his playroom and had fun with his Lego collection.  When he plays he starts singing.  Since it's Christmas time, he's been singing a lot of Christmas songs lately!

Maple Sunday

We went to two sugar houses this year for Maine Maple Sunday.  Phin's highlight at both places: mud!

Model show at Owls Head

We went to a models show at the Owls Head Transportation Museum today.  There were lots of RC cars, airplanes, trains, and boats.  The highlight was a make-and-take your own model activity.  Phineas had fun trying to put together the car and, with help from dad, finished it.  Then they gave him a certificate and we were off to look at more models!  

Out for a walk

We went out for a weekend morning walk around town and had fun exploring the public landing and all the sights (and Juno sniffs) there.

Splish Splash!

With all the recent snowmelt we've had puddles appearing everywhere.  And what does PFB do with a puddle?  Splash around in it!  Here he is getting soaked and having a great time doing it.
