Maine Maple Sunday

This year for Maine Maple Sunday we went to Sparky's Apiaries in Hope. Phineas liked walking up the long, muddy driveway to the sugar house and looking at the tractor. He also quickly spotted the flatbed truck they had with a container of sap on the back waiting to be boiled down into maple syrup. Mom and Dad both enjoyed a sample of vanilla ice cream with maple syrup drizzled on top, but Phineas turned it down and played in the mud instead!

Spruce Mountain in February

Oma and Aunt Julie came up for a quick visit last weekend.  Saturday was a wonderful warm February day, with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 40s.  We decided to head up to one of Phineas's favorite places - Spruce Mountain - for a winter hike.  It was a lot of fun!

Today we went sledding, and Phineas had fun!  Here is a video of his run with dad.

Maple Sunday

We went to two sugar houses this year for Maine Maple Sunday.  Phin's highlight at both places: mud!

Out for a walk

We went out for a weekend morning walk around town and had fun exploring the public landing and all the sights (and Juno sniffs) there.

Splish Splash!

With all the recent snowmelt we've had puddles appearing everywhere.  And what does PFB do with a puddle?  Splash around in it!  Here he is getting soaked and having a great time doing it. 

February Blizzard

Two weekends ago, we got about 2 feet of snow and drifts over 4 feet high in some places from the high winds in the blizzard everyone was calling Nemo. Phineas had lots of fun playing in it and using his loader to help clear the snow off the porch.

First Snow

We had our first snow of the season a few days ago.  When Phineas looked out the window he jumped up and down with excitement and then he and mom went straight outside to play in it.  Good thing they did as it melted within a few hours!

Phineas likes playing outside, regardless of the weather. He wants to drive his fire truck when he gets home every night but it's been too dark lately. So, today he drove it all over our driveway and lawn, on the icy snow. Then he got out his trucks to clear off our driveway!

First Snow

The first snow of the year came last weekend and we all went out and played in it. Phineas got geared up in his snow pants and jacket and then helped clear off the driveway with his loader and dump truck.

West Quoddy Head

We went to the easternmost point in the U.S.A. today, West Quoddy Head in Lubec. Aunt Julie was up visiting for the weekend and came along with us. It was a little windy, but we had the entire place to ourselves!

Here are some pictures of Phineas playing in the snow. He likes to go in and out of the little screen-house on the deck, walk around on the lawn, help shovel, and explore the beach.

Watching the Snow Plow

With all of the snow we have been getting, having the driveway plowed has been a weekly occurrence. This has been great for Phin because he really likes watching the plow truck. When he hears it out front he goes "brrumm" and scampers off to watch from the window in his play area, where he gets the best view.

We got our first snow of the season, Finn's first snow ever, last night! We took him out this morning to see what he thought of it. He enjoyed every minute of it!
