It's pretty clear who's calling the shots here! The little guy loves running down sidewalks, and he smiles and waves at people he meets.

Exploring the waterfront

We went down to the wharf at the end of the ferry terminal today. Phin likes to watch the ferries come and go, the ships go by, and the people fishing. Today's highlight was getting to see the fireboat spraying water high into the sky while welcoming a ship returning from the Gulf of Mexico. (And he's starting to realize that the gigantic cruise ship behind him is something much cooler than all the big buildings around!)

Fun while we wait

We took the car in to have some maintenance work done and while we waited Phin got to play with the dealership's toys. Few things beat a new-to-Phin collection of cars and trucks!! He had fun pushing the cars around the floor and saying "brrrrr" everytime he saw a car poster on the wall.

Apple Picking!

It's been almost a year since we last went apple picking; back then Phin was so young that he didn't really know what was going on. This year it was totally different, and he had his eyes on the prize from the get-go!

Mom has already turned some of the apples into a tasty pie. And just like last year, Dijon enjoyed the peels!

Phin loves playgrounds!

One of the great things about Portland is that there are a lot of playgrounds. We're having fun exploring all of different playgrounds around the city (Phin especially!), from schools to parks. Today it was the playground on the Eastern Prom, with a great view of the ocean!

Playing on the Porch

Phineas really likes to play on our porch. His favorite thing to do is water the flowers, and he also likes playing in the doorway and petting May!

Boston

While in Boston for the Sox game, we played a little bit too. Phineas was amazed by the hustle-bustle and all of the people in the city. He had fun running around in the parks and looking at the tall buildings.

Red Sox Game!

We went to a Red Sox game today, against the Chicago White Sox. The Red Sox self-destructed in the ninth, but Phin was great the entire game. He had fun!!

Highlights included clapping with the crowd, people-watching, and watching the vendors sell hot dogs, drinks, and cracker jacks. Thanks Owen!!

Gibberish: Phineas squeaking and babbling
